I have a Polk Audio TL1600 5.1 sound system paired with a Pioneer VSX-830-K audio reciever and ever since I've had  this setup I have had problems with the subwoofer not making any sound. Sometimes it would come on minutes at a time or longer and then make no sound. Don't know why this is happening?
My setup is fairly new and recently installed. So I changed the crossover frequency to 150hz in the avr settings, that seemed to do the trick. I originally had it set to 100hz. Here's the thing, the manual to TL1600 system says to set the subwoofer crossover 120hz in the avr settings, but the options the avr only gives me are 50hz, 80hz, 100hz, 150hz, and 200hz.  I think the crossover at 150hz is a little too much. Is there any way I can have the crossover at 120hz?
Could there be a short in the audio cable? So I'm just going to buy a new cable anyway to see it fixes them before determining if there is something wrong with the avr.
