Admittedly my "non-existent"  technologicAL background of knowledge wrt to pretty much everything but  even more so wrt to being able to discuss much of anything about the science of acoustics,  speakers, subs and subs design ,
in spite of my reading,  learning,  here at AVS
and I've heard great bass systems and even tried my hand at building some, successfully it seems,  incredible 1-off items
Maybe I need to go back and re-read the blurb
but i felt slightly underwhelmed when I read this:
"But for all its technological wonder, M-Force still had to meet MAG Audio’s challenging requirement, as they had preset the MAG THOR to confidently playback low frequency effect channels down to 20 Hz. “It also had to outperform no less than two typical dual 18” cinema subwoofers in terms of SPL. With 18 Hz (-3dB) threshold and 145 dB of peak sound pressure, these were easily achieved,.
What did I miss?
what could I build for that much money . .?

That they don't claim it delivers 145dB at 18Hz, but it's written in such a way to leave the reader to conclude that incorrectly.

What is awesome about this is.... M-Force.
Also, what may look ordinary to us, isn't so in the professional world. This thing can get LOW and LOUD in a relatively compact enclosure.

                        Is this a sealed cabinet?
trying to see the design but a bit confused on the drawing. PLUS being such a large driver I figured it would be a bit small to be a horn. BUT I also dont know for sure what all the M Force Tech can do to a driver.

                        The good:
-7500 W continuous, 15000 W peak for the amp module!

-20", 30", and 40" cones. The 40" cone is said to move as much air as four 21" subwoofers.

-There is a pressure sensor that measures the pressure inside and outside the box to optimize performance.
The bad:
-They developed their own huge amp, their own huge drivers, and completely reimagined the driver motor... to get 30 mm peak to peak displacement.

-The amp/ motor/ driver combo is OEM only, and is likely to stay that way. No DIY.
The ugly:
-The price. Just the amp module is rumored to be ~3000 Euros. None of the systems I found on the net list their price, but it's definitely going to be in nosebleed territory.
